Orion One represents BEHRENS' latest innovation in wristwatch design, resembling a micromechanical art-piece themed around futuristic concepts. Powered by the Cal.SWB18-200 self-winding movement, this timepiece incorporates BEHRENS' classic "time on a circular axis" design philosophy, coupled with an all-new "time-shifting" mechanism.

The Concept

The inspiration of “Orion One” automatic wristwatch was based on an imagination of the Mothership that the alien would use for traveling to Earth. From which we have designed from scratch, the “Orion One” wristwatch based on this sci-fi and mysterious Mothership appearance. The entire case has up to 40 facets, shaped and polished through a series number of complex processes. At 6:00 position is the twin rollers time display system in ‘Hours & Minutes’, the rollers numerous are made in raised 3D style (with luminous) to offer a touch of depth and to increase the readability of the time driven by a series of unique pinion gearing mechanisms. In the center of the dial is the small round second dial with raised seconds’ hand that serves as the “Radar” of the ” Mothership”. In addition, the case back of the watch is engraved with the outline shape of this Alien sculpture.

The Features

The “Orion One” contains the embodiment of several original patents. Inclusive of a newly designed and developed patented lever type winding / time setting mechanism, allowing the crown to be replaced by a hidden lever to make the watch more playful and as well improve the outlines of the watch’s case without destroying the aesthetic of the watch. By reconstructing the structure of the movement, the delicate coordination of more than 30 components adopted to reproduce BEHRENS’ classic “time display on a circular axis” concept, from which the left axis roller displays the hours, and the right axis roller displays the minutes. The watch also features a new patented strap quick-release system, which allows the strap to be quickly removed and reassembled by sliding the pusher mechanism, which greatly improves the ease of strap changing process.

The Functions

This timepiece offers various useful functions, including the linear type 24-hour (Day/Night) display inspired by historical "music boxes," a date function at the 1:30 position, and water resistance of 3 bar (30M).

The watch measures 44mm in length, 38mm in width, and 12.6mm in thickness, providing a balanced yet striking presence on the wrist.

CONCEPT
